Today is the 10th anniversary of the release of my 'A Personal Reference' album, one of my absolute proudest works. It took 18 months to record, but in a lot of ways was the album I always wanted to make my entire life. The absolute labyrinth of samples we used pretty much ensures it will never hit streaming services in its original form, but thankfully Bandcamp has stepped up so much in the past year that I'm happy it can be preserved somewhere.
So, as a thank you to everyone who has been rocking with me since 'A Personal Reference' was released, or longer, here's three demos that varied significantly from what you heard on the final released version. It's kind of a testament (And personal reminder as I'm in the demo stage of a new album as I type this) how much can change between that first recorded incarnation and how vital it is to the creative process.
I hope you have fun listening to it. Thanks again.
